SUNDAY MARCH 14th: Who can come to Manna Meal at St Johns today to present our Souper Bowl check and help serve lunch? We would leave immediately after church and be finished there at about 2pm

BAKED POTATO LUNCHEON: Which date would work for the YSO to prepare their Baked Potato lunch again? Let Lucy know your availability so we can get it on the calendar.

CAN YOU HELP MAKE SOME VIDEOS? We need to produce 5 short videos to tell the bible stories each day during VBS. We need actors and a videographer, and hopefully can have alot of fun making the movies! Let Lucy know if you can help.

CHARLESTON EPISCOPAL YOUTH BOWLING SOCIAL: We are invited to join the youth from St. Johns and St. Christophers Episcopal Churches in Charleston for a social bowling event on Sunday June 27th after church. Details posted here nearer the date.

....Recent Service Event: March of Dimes Phone-a-thon

The March of Dimes Phon-a-thon was a tremendous success and those who attended had a lot of fun participating. The Youth Group met in Mathes Hall to watch a couple of videos to learn about the essential work undertaken by the March of Dimes before starting to phone Saint Matthews Congregation.

NTelos had generously donated several cell phones for the event, and for nearly 4 hours the group constantly phoned the parish asking for donations. They only took a brief break for Pizza and refreshements as competition was hot for the prize of Top Pledge Collector (Finally won by Virginia McGhee with Jessica Sayre close behind to win the runners up prize)! In total, the group managed to attain pledges for an incredible:

MEET THE YOUTH GROUP TEAM

Lucy Templeton is Director of Youth Formation at Saint Matthews and is currently leading Youth Group and Youth Service Organization. Lucy can be contacted at 304-932-7863 or by email by clicking here.

Mary and Dan Kerns also volunteer to assist with the Youth Group throughout the year. They have teenage and young adult children, and also run Saint Matthews Acolyte Program.

Willie Lively ran Saint Matthews Youth Group for many years and is another essential member of the team. Willie continues to help with many of our Youth Service Organization Projects.

Fr. Bill Thomas of course also stays involved and active with the Youth Group and assist where needed.
