CAMP EDGE VBS 2009

Camp E.D.G.E. opened at Saint Matthews on Tuesday July 14th to teach over 110 children how to Experience and Discover God Everywhere. The Sanctuary was transformed into the main camp ground, where Fr. Bill and his friends Jean the Owl and Sparx the Fox helped teach the daily E.D.G.E. Pledges. The week was full of extreme adventures and over 100 volunteers helped to ensure every child had an incredible experience. Read a full description of the weeks events by clicking here.

REGISTRATION AND ASSEMBLY

Each Day started with registration, and opening assembly in the church.

Each day the children brought in toys and games for our mission project, and at the end of the week the amazing collection was sent to Mingo County to help the boys and girls who had lost everything in this year's floods.

Under Kim Javins leadership, music was a huge part of Camp EDGE and we rehearsed in Morning Assembly each day. It was high energy and really set the pace for the rest of the morning.

And of course there was Fr. Bill, Sparx and Extreme Jean to help entertain and teach the EDGE Pledges and bible story each day.

Each day, the children were asked to search for a specific greek letter to make up the Ichthys: Jesus Christ God's Son, Savior. The letter was hidden somewhere around Camp EDGE and the child who found it brought it to Closing assembly to add to the fish.
